Graveyard Moonlight

Description

Ok so I'm actually doing a Necromancer inspired character... and I didn't wan't to just do another character and no background..  So I've got the linework done for the Necromancer, mostly (apx 6 hours line work sketch).  And I decided to put her in a graveyard.. 'cos I figured that hasn't been done before lol.  Just what I fancied drawing/painting.  So the line work for the graveyard (from scratch) took me apx 5hours or so and the digital painting part has taken just under 8 hours thus far.  I'm so pleased with it.  I figured I'd share it at this stage...  but please know it is a background so it's not all tightly rendered...  I am just really pleased with myself.

I did use a tree brush (see brush credits) and painted over to make them more my own and add my own parts too them and such.  Other than that all hand drawn digitally and digitally painted over my line work :D

I did use a mass texture on some of the stones (at the front) set on very low opacity and manipulated.  The stone texture is a texture stock and can be found here: www.deviantart.com/art/Stone-t… by enframed

Oh dear this is one wonderful environment piece !You really did a great job on this, so many details and so much work. What I would suggest is to add a little mist that goes to the end of forest -as the graves are getting further-that way you'll get more sence of depth and mood (or between them) to separate them a little bit. The cross at the beginning seem like its behind this gray one (because brown one is broken) but value makes it stand out so instead of brown being ahead of gray one it looks the other way around.
I'm looking forward seeing your necromancer character :D Keep it up :)
