As said I wanted to do a digitally painting of an old photomanipulation that I did (and love) - as seen below.

Photomanip isn't really my thing any more as I'm trying to improve on digitally drawing and painting

Just working on colour, shape, form etc... and after over 80 hours using wacom bamboo pen and touch tablet, CS5 and standard brush sets. This is how the piece turned out. Very happy tbh. missimoinsane © Imogen Cane 2012

Visually I really enjoy the subject matter and the colors. Personally I enjoyed the pale colors of the photominipulations because you don't often see a parrot colored like that which gives it a unique twist. I would have loved to see that in this but the chromatic is still nice too. Overall your form and lighting is strong but I would suggest trying to avoid black when getting to your shadows. There are multitudes of colors in shadow and black can sometimes be utilized but often times will dull out the vibrancy of a piece. Another thing I would probably work on is some of you edges can get super sharp. Such as the leaves that extend out of the bouquet and it looks more like pixel art than a digital painting.

Overall it is really a great piece, I think the strongest part of the pice for me is the feather of the bird, as a view I can feel the miltitudes of layers in it.

It has a very pleasing composition and color variety. The details on the various flowers and the leaves is well done. The only thing I would change is to add a bit more highlights and shadows, like those on the bottom purple flower. Very well done.

That macaw looks so cute and cuddly with its head bent down like that... like it's asking for a tickle! x3
I love how it fits right in with the bright colors of the flowers. They go surprisingly well together. The diagonal layout of this work is interesting, too.
