W.I.P =

This piece was always going to be called 'Lily'. However it was never going to be a woman! Nor a piece of art work! ~ This was about practicing new techniques. I am still very new to 'the tablet' and so I was practicing things such as colouring, tones, shapes, drawing, skin etc... but most importantly I was practicing hair. This piece started off as a lily flower!!! But then it became a woman with a lily in her hair and then I removed the flower and it simply just became that Lily is her name. I think I did quite well.

Date: 25th-27th September 2011.
Time: Somewhere between 18 and 25 hours.
Program: Photoshop 7.
Brush Set(s): Standard PS7 Brush Sets
Tools: Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch (tablet).
Information: Completly drawn from scratch - doodles of my own and such.

Thank you, I am still learning. I am in love with your spider lady and can't wait too see how that turns out. Wish I had come up with it myself tbh. Lovely work.

The texture of the hair looks very nice in this as does the skin tone shading around the neck line :)

I am very pleased with how this turned out. In the WIP I think the neck was too long and the chin was too long and the ear was not in the right place. A few adjustments and then patchwork and more work I am very pleased with the results. I am going to try and learn more - I have been watching lots of videos this evening and there's much more still to see :D

Have you ever thought about doing a speed draw video? I'd love to see your technique in motion :3

Oh hell no. They drive me mad. Maybe in like 2 years when I get good enough but right now I'd be so concerned that I was recording I'd just keep messing up lol. I use to do tutorials but then deicded my techniques wern't amazing enough to really be showing people how I do them. So I have started learning new stuffs :) But thank you for the suggestion, I'll take it as a compliment. But at the moment I am between learning so much different ways of doing things and what works best for me. But thank you hun

I really love the hair. The tones are varied and are put together nicely. I especially like some of the tips, the detail gives a nice feel of realism.

Thank you very much for what you said. I am still learning but I feel I am improving. I have one piece I am meant to be working on but it's just going from bad to worse... Humm. I still haven't forgotten your princess but after the last one (I worked really hard on) accidently got under the wheels of my desk chair and torn by the time I realised that's where it'd gone :( ...anyways: thank you again and I will keep trying to improve :D
