Freedom Warrior

There are a lot of little mermaids kind of drawings here on DA but I have to say that it's the first time that I see a mermaid warrior ;O I really like this idea and the concept. It really stood out since mermaids are usually known only for their beauty and you just showed another side of them <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> So first, the character, I think there could be more contrast between the light and the shadows and just to show the under-water effect even more, you could have made the shadows a bit in a dark-blue tone. The hair are really nice C: But maybe just a bit blurry at the end, it could be better if you've made some lock of hair longer than others instead of a strait line.
I especially really like the tail, beautiful sparkling effect <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
The background is pretty amazing as well ^^ The effect on the chains and the octopus are so well done.
Looking at this drawing it's like watching a frozen image of an important scene. It really made me want to watch the ending of the battle <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
Again, there are some places for improvement but overall, really nice work <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
