DAILY SPITPAINT No.4 - Ancient Sea Lord

Description

DSP4 Ancient sea lord - 30 Minutes - The timer ran out. I don't like it, one of those the more I did the worse it got then I started panicking as I was running out of time so blended it into the background, blurred the edges and added beams of light.  *shrug* I may work on this and actually turn it into something more like what I had in mind.....

Ps. This looks MUCH better on my cintiq 13HD than on PC and phone screen :/ in all honesty that's kind of putting me off doing art.  I have 2 monitors, a phone, a tv, another pc with a monitor and a cintiq 13HD and the values, tones, colours etc etc all look different and on some screens it looks amazing and on others it looks absolutely awful :(

The painting itself is not bad, it just doesn't have enough contrast to read well... very bright screens can reduce that effect, but if you want it to look decent even when printed, it helps to really pay attention to the values you're using - especially with speedpaints, you should be able to tell what's in the image when you resize it to a tiny thumbnail.
